Ides of March

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Now that the Sockapalooza socks are finished and mailed, I've started spinning some yarns. I like how this turned out, but it's a single-ply sport weight and I'm not sure what to do with it.

Next try: mohair.

Sockapalooza Sock! One down, one to go...

If this sock looks extremely large to you, that's because it is. Secret: this sock is for a GUY. The chances that he will stumble upon this blog are vanishingly small, so I think it's okay to admit it.
One more to go. This was done in double stranded worsted weight alpaca -- my tight gauge and the relatively light weight of this yarn made the pattern work out perfectly. I hope. If they don't fit, maybe I can convince him to send them back to me. They're so soft!

Also, a bunch of homespun, one little skein dyed in orange, red, and purple, because I thought it would look like a sunset. Instead it looks like I used it to mop up a crime scene.
One day I'm going to do a sweater, really.

Here's some Koolaid dyed yarn for a hat. It came out surprisingly bright... wish Koolaid came in more adult colors. Of course, I could use tea, coffee and wine to dye yarn. What a waste, though.

Tangled yarn

How is a person supposed to keep skeined yarn from tangling?? I had it almost completely in a ball, then I looked down and saw THAT.
Here's the latest finished project: half gloves for a crafty friend. You can't tell from the picture but all the stitches are twisted. Yes, I've been twisting all my stitches ever since I started knitting. I discovered this when I saw a picture of real, legitimate knitting in a book. Hey... that doesn't look like my...
